We're working towards longer lives for millions of healthy, happy dogs by providing tailored nutrition that adapts to each dog’s unique needs. It all starts with a few simple questions about their age, breed, zoomie level and tastebuds. From there, owners can create a personalised meal plan that's delivered to their door every month. Overview of the job

We’re looking for a Planning Specialist to ensure we fulfil every customer order in the UK for our direct-to-consumer (DTC) business. We do this by ensuring we have the right stock availability at controlled cost, delivered through a simplified, scalable, and collaborative planning process. This role reports to the Supply Team Lead and is part of our Operations Team. Join, and you’ll be right at the heart of a direct-to-customer subscription business in the pursuit of longer lives for millions of healthy, happy dogs. Measures of success – In the first few months, you would have:

Mastered the Tails.com purpose built ERP system to effectively manage operational workflows.
Assumed full accountability for assigned product categories, consistently maintaining inventory coverage within target parameters.
Developed a comprehensive understanding of category-related projects and provided proactive cross-functional support.
Demonstrated autonomous decision-making capability regarding daily operational impacts on inventory levels.
Established strong collaborative relationships across internal operations teams and key external suppliers.

Roles & Responsibilities:

Maintain stock availability to ensure seamless customer order fulfilment while balancing warehouse racking capacity and cash flow constraints.
Manage day-to-day supplier relationships, including leading weekly operational reviews.
Support and contribute to the Demand and Operations (D&Op) planning process by tracking category performance and delivering accurate quarterly forecasts.
Collaborate with the New Product Development (NPD) team on range renovations and new product launches.
Oversee the end-to-end purchase order (PO) lifecycle, from initial creation through to invoice payment by Finance.

What you will need:

Strong attention to detail, highly organised, and comfortable taking ownership of stock categories, with the ability to identify and respond effectively to shifting demand and inventory levels.
Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Excel and Google Sheets, including strong competency with complex formulas and data analysis.
A collaborative team player committed to supporting colleagues and contributing to broader business goals.
Excellent communication skills, with the ability to provide clear updates on stock positions to internal stakeholders and work cross-functionally.
Demonstrate a proactive and collaborative approach, maintaining a continuous-improvement mindset toward operational processes and forecast accuracy.
